KIT CARSON COUNTY, COLORADO
The Board of Education of the Burlington School District RE-6j in the County of Kit Carson, State of Colorado, calls for nomination of candidates for school directors to be placed on the ballot for the regular biennial school election to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
At this election four (4) directors will be elected for one (1) term of four (4) years. These directors are At-Large Directors. To be qualified, a candidate must be a registered elector and a resident of the Burlington School District RE-6j for at least twelve (12) consecutive months before the election. A person is ineligible to run for school director if he or she has been convicted of committing a sexual offense against a child.
Nomination petitions may be obtained at the Burlington School District Office, 2600 Rose Avenue, Burlington, CO. Office hours are 8am-4pm Monday through Thursday. Completed petitions should be submitted to S. Shane Walkinshaw, Burlington School District RE-6j designated election official, no later than 4:00pm on August 29, 2025.

Here are some changes coming for this school year.
Registration is OPEN!
In person and online registration is now open for the 2025-26 school year. In person registration is at Burlington High School for all buildings, 8AM-3PM Monday and Tuesday. All parents/guardians will need to complete the process for each student in your household. We have added the additional enhancements to make online registration as easy as possible:
The District has partnered with Docusign to bring parents and guardians the ability to sign online. No more huge packets of paper to sign, just log into Alma and you can sign off on all forms to re-enroll your student.
• Log into the Parent Portal in Alma: https://www.burlingtonk12.org/page/alma
• Be sure to fill out the LINQ free and reduced questions
• Click on the Docusign link and be done in 5 minutes or less!
• For the best experience we recommend using a computer or tablet; a phone screen may prove too small to see some details.
You will also be able to pay class fees online! We’re using the industry standard Stripe to handle online payments. Rest assured, you can still pay fees in person via check if you want.
