BES is excited to present its Spring Program tonight, beginning at 6:00 PM in the high school auditorium, with Kindergarten-2nd grade, and then followed by 3rd-4th grade!

Kindergarten through 2nd grade students should arrive at 5:45 PM and meet their teachers in the high school cafeteria. Please remain seated and enjoy the full K–2 performance to help avoid disruptions in the auditorium. K–2 students can be picked up at the front of the high school (in the lawn near the west entrance) immediately following the 2nd grade performance. There will be a short intermission before the 3rd–4th grade concert.

3rd and 4th grade students should arrive at 6:30 PM and be dropped off in the high school cafeteria. Arrive promptly, as we hope to start this portion of the concert at 6:45 PM. Please remain seated and enjoy both grade levels performing to minimize disruptions. After the performance, students can be picked up at the front of the high school (near the west entrance).
Thank you, we look forward to a great evening!

BES Spring Assembly Celebrates Growth, State Wrestlers Inspire the Finish

Burlington Elementary kicked off the final stretch of the school year with an energizing spring assembly that celebrated growth and set the tone for a strong fourth quarter. The assembly began by celebrating some exciting “Good Things” across the school: the ABC Countdown to Summer is right around the corner, staff have given out over 5,000 green tickets recognizing positive behavior, and schoolwide attendance has climbed to an impressive 94%.

Students and staff then took time to recognize how far each grade level has come, highlighting recent successes on challenging tasks and honoring the consistent effort of both learners and teachers throughout the year.

A special highlight of the assembly was a visit from Burlington High School wrestlers, who shared lessons from their experience competing at the state level. Their message centered on working hard to prepare and giving your best effort when it matters most, even when you feel a little nervous. Their words provided meaningful encouragement for 3rd and 4th grade students preparing for CMAS, as well as all students continuing their work on upcoming district assessments.

As the school looks ahead to the final 28 days, the focus is clear: be BRAVE and STRONG. With a continued push toward the schoolwide attendance goal of 95% and a commitment to finishing the year with purpose, Burlington Elementary is poised to make the most of every remaining day.

3rd and 4th graders participated in the 3rd through 5th grade ECBOCES Battle of the Books competition on March 30th in Strasburg. Students prepared for the competition throughout the school year. Together, each team of students read 36 books from America's Battle of the Books Elite 4th-6th grades. Students answered questions by knowing the book and author the question came from as a team against other area teams in five rounds. Both the 3rd grade team and the 4th grade team were in the top 4 of the 16 participating teams and moved on to the championship round. The 4th grade team placed 2nd and the 3rd grade team placed 4th.
