A big thank you to Mortenson Company, Power Delivery Division out of Minnesota, for building, painting, installing, and donating a Little Free Library to Burlington Elementary School!

Their team is currently working on the Singing Grass Windfarm and Substation in Vona, and we’re grateful they chose to leave such a thoughtful gift behind. The Burlington Elementary Student Advisory and Leadership Team proudly accepted the library on behalf of the school.

I want to reach out and inform you that we have seen an increase of Hand Foot and Mouth disease (HFM) at school. It's typically a mild illness, and I’d like to share the attached information for your information:

The best ways to prevent transmission of any illness is to stay home if you are sick, and to practice good hand hygiene, washing hands frequently. Students with HFM do not need to stay home from school unless they have a fever, vomiting or diarrhea, are drooling uncontrollably or don’t feel well enough to participate in daily activities.

Join us TONIGHT for Parent Open House! Families will rotate through different sessions to learn more about important topics that support your child’s success at school. Sessions will include Grade Level Expectations, Parent-Teacher Communication with Rooms, Capturing Kids’ Hearts Routines, and other schoolwide norms. This is a great opportunity to connect with teachers, understand classroom expectations, and see how we are working together to create a positive learning environment for all students.
