Celebrating Our Fourth Quarter Citizenship Award Winners
This past week, we had the chance to recognize an outstanding group of students who truly represent what it means to be a Cougar at BES. Our fourth quarter Citizenship Award winners consistently model the character, effort, and choices that make our school such a special place.
At BES, CUBS is a commitment to the values we build every day:
C – Caring: Showing kindness and helping others
U – United: Working together toward a common goal
B – Brave: Trying new things, even when it feels challenging
S – Strong: Having the mental discipline to choose what is right, even when it’s hard
As we remind our students, we can do hard things.
Our Citizenship Award winners live this out. They include others, make positive choices, and stay focused on doing what’s right, even when no one is watching. They help create classrooms where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. We are incredibly proud of them and grateful for the example they set for their classmates each day.

We’re thrilled to announce that Megan Harrel will be stepping into a new role as our 7th Grade Language Arts teacher for the 2026–2027 school year! After supporting students and staff as the BMS Office Aide, Megan will now be bringing her passion and positivity into the classroom!

Today we introduced a new BES tradition: the Heart of the School Award, our highest culture recognition.
Our very first recipient, Ridge Frihauf, reminds us what perseverance, courage, joy, and heart look like. His journey back to school has inspired our entire community, and we are so proud to celebrate the incredible progress he continues to make. Congratulations, Ridge!

Meet the 2026–2027 BES Classroom Teacher Team!
We are excited to introduce the classroom teachers who will be leading our Cougars next school year. Elementary classroom teachers do so much more than teach reading, writing, and math. They build relationships, create routines, encourage confidence, celebrate growth, and help students learn how to be part of a classroom community.
The impact of a great elementary teacher lasts far beyond one school year. They are often the first people who help children see themselves as readers, problem-solvers, friends, leaders, and learners.
We are proud of this team and excited for the year ahead. Go Cougars!
