Nine HOSA students spent the weekend at the State Leadership Conference competing in various health care related events and attending symposiums on health related topics. This year’s theme was “Connecting to Care”. Our delegation was part of 2400 total participants from all over the state.
Some of our favorite sessions were learning suture techniques, plasticized human organ displays and dissections and diagnosing illness in developing countries via video conference. Some of our students were able to participate in a video doctor appointment in Zimbabwe and helped diagnose typhoid fever!

Maryn Lindenschmidt, freshman, practices her suture techniques.

Jade Yager, senior, Austynn Taylor, sophomore, and Aubrey Yager, sophomore, prepare for their Mental Health Promotion event.

It was an incredibly successful event with a blend of exploring health related fields, competition and camaraderie.

A special thanks to Mrs. Rotoni and Ms. Manaligod for their invaluable assistance!
