Dear Families:

Greetings!  This letter is to inform you that Burlington School District will be offering summer school for students in grades K-8 and it will be held at Burlington Elementary School.  Summer is just around the corner so I wanted to reach out and let you know what our schedule will be.  Some of you may have received information about this from your child’s teacher at conferences.

The starting date for students will be Wednesday, May 31, 2017 and the ending date will be Thursday, June 29, 2017.  All summer school days are Monday through Thursday.  We will not be having summer school on Fridays.  Our school day will last from 7:45-11:45 a.m., which includes time for breakfast and lunch.

We realize that many of our students are involved in Vacation Bible School, sports, among a variety of other activities.  With this in mind, we encourage students to attend school as much as possible, but understand when other commitments arise.  We will remain flexible so that students who are committed to other activities can attend school for a portion of the morning and then leave as needed.

We partner with Prairie Family Center to provide well-balanced meals for our students and community.  If you know of any families that would greatly benefit from having breakfast and lunch meals provided FREE of charge for school students age 18 and under, please share the information.  We will serve both meals each day that we are in session.  The cost for adults is: $1 for breakfast and $2 for lunch.

If you have not yet signed your child up for summer school, please notify the elementary school office.  Please let me know if you have any questions @ 346-8166.

Sincerely,

Kandy Davis

Summer School Principal
